Department of Parks and Recreation Ranger, Scott Sipes, after receiving the Gold Medal of Valor award from Governor Arnold Schwarznegger, Tuesday Dec. 7, 2010. The Governor’s State Employee Medal of Valor award is for demonstrating extraordinary acts of bravery and heroism to save the life of another. On June 28, 2009, Sipes rescued and provided emergency medical attention to an electrocution victim.
